Artist's Statement
It is my intention to touch another’s spirit with my work, cause them to pause, then move on the richer for the experience. Art for me is a means of communicating about our environment, our lives, sharing our experiences, and reflecting how they inform each other.
Working between different media gives me a wide range of expression. Printing and painting give a colorful, loose response, while drawing is more personal and becomes a means of reflection and reinterpretation. Photography captures moments in our lives, large or small, we might not otherwise bring into focus and appreciate, redefining our reality.
My current work is about the exploration of nature as well as the built environment, and filtering it through perceptions and emotions into images. To express a flicker of beauty; recapture a forgotten memory or emotion from the viewer’s own personal landscape, to see the infinite in even the mundane.
